Contemplating some new boat lettering but aren’t sure where to start? Follow these easy steps to get the ball rolling…
Pictures: Take a few pictures of the boat with at least one straight on shot of the placement area, being sure to get that entire part of the boat in the frame. Additional pictures of the boat can be helpful as well, especially in regard to the style and existing colors on the boat.
Measurements: Measure the usable lettering space (see diagram for examples)
Pick a name: A boat name should be short, memorable, and catchy. Inspiration can come from anywhere – family, friends, hobbies, a favorite song… use your imagination and have fun with it!
Lettering Style: Choose a font and determine if you want ALL CAPS, all lower case, Or a Combination
Color Choice: Decide what color you’d like the lettering to be. If you are unsure, looking at the vinyl in person outdoors in natural sunlight is always the best bet. We are happy to show you samples at our shop and even send some home with you if that is helpful.
E-mail us: Once you have these items together, e-mail tara@proimagedesign.net. Be sure to include the type and color of the boat, your contact info., the boat’s location, the boat name, font and color choice, the measurements you took, and don’t forget to attach the pictures.
Even though spring and summer are busy times for us (especially when it comes to boats) you should expect a response to your inquiry within a day or two. We can then iron out any final details and provide a quote for your review.
