If you haven’t stepped into one of our Traverse City or Petoskey production facilities, then you haven’t had a chance to see the extraordinary machines and equipment that we get to work with on a daily basis. The Traverse City shop is home to our Mimaki large format UV LED flatbed inkjet printer. The Flatbed Printer allows us to print directly to flat materials that are up to 4×8’ in size and 50 mm (almost 2”) thick. We can fabricate custom routed sign shapes and then add unique finishes to them through the process of print. In addition, the Mimaki has the ability to partially or fully coat the prints with clear gloss, creating eye-catching effects.
Using this technique, we’ve been able to produce some impressive accents for signs and displays. Some of our favorite materials to experiment with on the Flatbed are acrylic, aluminum and wood.
