During the blustery and cold weather that early February bestowed upon us, we installed this illuminated entrance sign for University Health Park on the campus of Michigan State University. The monument style sign is an aluminum structure with routed faces that feature push through acrylic lettering and logo details.

The sign’s masonry base presented a challenge in maintaining our high-quality standard, while keeping the project affordable. Custom brick features are known to be difficult to build and install during the winter months. We interpreted this as an opportunity to develop a plan and create the sign and base entirely in our shop. Single trip installation was essential to achieving our goal.

Once the sign was built, we used our boom truck to load it up, along with the masonry base. The structures were hauled side-by-side down to East Lansing, where we set the final assembly with our crane and completed installation in one trip. Ingenuity and commitment to a job well done allowed us to stay on track with our client’s winter timeline and budget.
